You will have to click on the survivors and tell them what work they have to do. To collect wood, farming, base area, stack corpses, and few other jobs you need to designate an area for that. The superb survivor mod has a lot of bugs. Survivors usually die of hunger and thirst, so turn them off in the setting. The AI of the survivors can be rough around the edges when it comes to defending themselves against zombies or chatting to each other but they are definitely able to help a lot around your base and make the world feel more alive (lol).
