Maui where to stay

This will be a our first time in Hawaii. Booking a place to stay is the last step and I’m trying to figure out where we stay. I’m leaning towards either west or south Maui, mainly either Wailea, Kihei, or Kaanapali. But I also no absolutely nothing about Hawaii besides what I’ve read / watched on YouTube, so I’m open to anything.

Yes there is direct beach access at the Andaz. At both resorts we spent almost all of our time at the pools.
